Paul Hofman obtained his MD degree in 1989 at the University Côte d’Azur (Nice, France) and his PhD degree in 1994 at the University of Montpellier I (Montpellier, France). He performed research fellows in the Department of Pathology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA) from 1992 to 1995). He is full Professor of Pathology since 1995 and head of the research team 4 at the Inserm 1081/UMR CNRS 7284 (IRCAN; www.ircan.org) at the Comprehensive Cancer Center Antoine Lacassagne (Nice). The main topic of the team 4 is related to lung cancer pathophysiology and to the discovery of new predictive and prognostic biomarkers. He is the head of the Nice Biobank (BB-0033-00025) and of the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Pathology at Nice Hospital. He is the Director of the OncoAge Consortium in France (www.oncoage.org). He is member of the Royal Academia of Medicine (Belgium). He published more than 450 papers including papers on predictive biomarkers in lung cancer.
