Paul Hofman obtained his MD degree in 1989 at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (Nice, France) and his PhD degree in 1994 at the University of Montpellier I (Montpellier, France). He did research fellows at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA) from 1992 to 1996 and then at the Max Planck Institut (Tubingen, Germany). He is full professor of pathology since 1995 and head of a research team at the Inserm 1081/UMR CNRS 7284 (IRCAN; www.ircan.org) in University of Nice Côte d’Azur, located at the Comprehensive Cancer Center Antoine Lacassagne. The main topic of this team is related to lung cancer pathophysiology and to biomarkers discovery. He is the head of the Hospital-related Biobank (BB-0033-00025) and of the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Pathology at Nice Hospital. He is the Director of the OncoAge Consortium in France (www.oncoage.org).
