Prof Alain Vergnenègre specializes in Epidemiology, Health Economics, and Prevention in lung cancer as Chief of Epidemiological, medical statistics and medical evaluation and his current position is: Medical Director of Limoges University Hospital.

He is currently the Vice-President of the French Lung Cancer Group (Le Groupe Français de Pneumo-Cancérologie) (GFPC) and became the President from 2002 to 2006. He have been involved in clinical trials of different phases: phase II and III in small cell and non small cell lung cancer and worked as the coordinator of three phase II trials and one phase III trial.

Since 2010, his research activities are based in U707 unit in Paris, St Antoine with the topic “modelisation of medical strategies” and be in charge of clinical researches in the chest-unit entailing multi-disciplinary discussions (oncologists, chest surgeons, radiologists).
