Yasuhiko Nishioka, MD, PhD

Dr. Yasuhiko Nishioka is currently a professor and chairman in the Department of Respiratory Medicine and Rheumatology in The University of Tokushima Graduate School. Prof. Nishioka graduated from Tokushima University in 1988. He received both MD and PhD from Tokushima University. From 1996 to 1998, he had studied the biology and clinical application of dendritic cells for cancer immunotherapy in the University of Pittsburgh, as a visiting researcher (supervised by A. Prof. Hideaki Tahara and Prof. Michael T. Lotze). He also had done the research in The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas in 2008, as a visiting associate professor (Prof. Isaiah J Fidler’ Lab.). He served as a director of Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS) and a member of programming committee of American Thoracic Society (ATS). He is the author or co-author of over 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research area includes immunotherapy, tumor angiogenesis and metastasis of lung cancer and mesothelioma.
