Gregory P. Kalemkerian, MD, is Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at University of Michigan Medical School and Co-Director of the Thoracic Program at University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center in Ann Arbor. His clinical interests include the care of patients with lung cancer, thymoma, and mesothelioma, and his research interest is in experimental therapeutics and clinical trials for thoracic malignancies.

Dr. Kalemkerian attended Northwestern University and received his medical degree in 1985 from Northwestern University Medical School. His postdoctoral training includes a residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, chief medical residency at Lakeside VA Medical Center, and a fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Kalemkerian has served on the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Scientific Program Committee and on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He is Chair of the NCCN Small Cell Lung Cancer Guideline Panel. His honors include the ASCO Young Investigator Award, the University of Michigan Outstanding Clinician Award and League of Clinical Excellence, and the Michigan Cancer Consortium Spirit of Collaboration Award. Dr. Kalemkerian has given over 190 invited presentations, authored more than 65 peer-reviewed articles and over 70 review articles, commentaries and book chapters, and edited a book on lung cancer.
