Dr. Zhu earned her medical degree from the Medical Center of Fudan University (former Shanghai Medical University). She was in a graduate program in Medical Oncology at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center prior to receiving her Ph.D. degree in Molecular Pathology and Immunology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. 

Dr. Zhu completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Boston Medical Center. She is board certified in both Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Zhu is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine and VA Long Beach Healthcare system. Her clinical interests are thoracic malignancies. Her focus is on patient-centered care and innovative clinical trial designs.
